Blog #7

This week in Japanese class we learned a whole bunch of new grammar.  It is always very difficult when we learn new grammar because you have to use it often to remember it.  So this upcomming week I need to work on my grammar and see if I can master all of the new ones.  We also have a kanji quiz coming up this week and it will be the hardest thing for me.  I am so bad at remembering how to write kanji that I always forget come test time.  So I will be focusing on learning the kanji to the best of my ability this week.

Blog #6

This week I missed one day because I was not feeling well.  It was the first class I missed so far this semester.  On thursday we had our super Kanji quiz.  I can always remember most of the readings of kanjis as well as the meaning in English, but I always forget how to write them.  I think the other two are more important however because even noe people don't write Kanji as much since the computer came along.  Also we did a dialog with a friend.  It was fun to make a dialog from scratch and come up with ideas on our own.

Paisley and the girl that sat next to her did the their dialog.  The were talking about going to an onsen in kyuushuu and she decided that she is going to go next week.  Also she mentioned that she needed to go into the outdoor onsen as well.

I watched the anime on the blog and Kimi ni Todoke.  It started off write after winter break when the students came back.  The three friends were eating lunch and exchanging food and the main character there was "Sawako Kuronuma" (I think).  They then mentioned that the next day it was going to be Valentines day and was wondering if she was going to make chocolates.  A new scene then goes to where she is making chocolates and get nervous because she notices how many little hearts she puts on them.  She really wants to give a bag of these to a very popular guy in the class named "Kazehaya" (I think).  So during Valentines day she gives all the Giri Chocolate to her friends and the teacher and they all say how good they taste. The whole day she was way to nervous to give any chocolate to Kazehaya. It is then you realize that Kazehaya has feelings for Kuronuma because he didn't receive any and was upset.  She stays after school in hopes to get the courage to give him the chocolate. When he gets out of the teachers office and goes down the stairs she is about to call out to him when another girl walks over to give him chocolate.  This makes her more nervous and she can no longer get the courage to give him any chocolate.  The girl then walks up to her and says something about only if it is Giri Chocolate she can give it to Kazehaya.  Kuronuma says if it is Girichocolate than she doesn't want to give him any chocolate because she wanted to give him chocolates to say she likes him and not friend chocolates.
This show was ok.  It was kind of boring but it was fun to try and understand an anime without subtitles.  I would like to do more of these in the future.  Maybe a different anime though :).

Reflection of Glogster-
Glogster was an interesting way to practice Japanese.  It was fun to just make a robot then describe this robot in Japanese.  I am not very creative so it was difficult for me to try and think of something, although it was an easy idea, I had fun doing it.  In the future I would not mind doing more of these.  We could use them to teach the class about different Japanese cultures/holidays or what not.  It could be a useful tool in making fliers for things like that.
